Accela Citizen Access

Accela Citizen Access is an online Citizen portal that will allow customers to submit Environmental Health Permit applications, complaint submittals, payment of permit fees, facility search, and search for inspection reports.

Body Art

The Division of Environmental Health ensures compliance with minimum standards that apply to Body Art Facilities and Practitioners for the safe practice of Body Art in Tulare County.

Dairy

Tulare County is one of eight counties in California designated as Approved Milk Inspection Services by the California Department of Food and Agriculture. 

Soft Serve

Tulare County is the Local Enforcement Agency for the Soft Serve Program in Kings and Tulare Counties. We inspect, collect soft serve product samples, and review laboratory analysis.

This Program inspects Retail Food Facilities to ensure safe food handling practices, proper sanitation and compliance with the California Health and Safety Code

Hazardous Materials (CUPA)

The Tulare County Division of Environmental Health is responsible for inspecting facilities that handle hazardous materials, generate hazardous waste, treat hazardous waste, own/operate underground storage tanks, own/operate aboveground petroleum storage tanks, or handle other materials subject to the California Accidental Release Program.

Land Use

The Land Use Program provides environmental review of  building and development projects and acts as a liaison between Environmental Health and various County and State agencies. 

Liquid Waste

This Program provides oversight of septic waste collection and disposal vehicles to help verify adherence to local ordinances.

Medical Waste

This Program provides oversight of medical waste handling facilities.

Organized Camps

Organized camps are inspected to ensure compliance with sections of California Health and Safety Code.

Plan Review

Many of our Environmental Health Permits require plan check to make sure that businesses are in compliance with County Ordinances as well as State & Federal Laws and Regulations. Many of the requirements are established to provide a safe operation for the employees, the environment, and the public.

Pools, Spas, & Water Features

The Tulare County Recreational Health Program provides routine and investigative inspections for all public swimming pools, spas and water features.

Solid Waste

The Tulare County Environmental Health Division serves as the Local Enforcement Agency for managing solid waste facility inspections.

Water Systems Program

Tulare County Environmental Health permits and regulates State Small Water Systems, which serve drinking water to between 5 and 14 service connections.

Water Wells

The Environmental Health Division oversees the installation of water wells.  A permit is required for the construction, destruction and inactivation of water wells anywhere in Tulare County.
