SB1383 Food Recovery

Senate bill SB1383 was a short-term climate pollutant reduction act focusing on the reduction of greenhouse gas generation at landfills across California. This includes reducing the amount of edible food waste that is being introduced into landfills. In order to facilitate this reduction, facilities that generate food waste will be required to contract with a Food Recovery Organization, to move this food waste from the waste stream, onto the tables of families in need. The following Food Recovery Organizations are in operation within Tulare County and are some of the options for generators to become compliant with the bill. This list is a work in progress and will be expanded upon in the future.
