Environmental Health Specialists conduct annual inspections of detention facilities throughout Tulare County and in the incorporated cities such as city jails, court holding facilities, and juvenile detention facilities.

These facilities are inspected for compliance with health and safety regulations and the reports are forwarded to the State Board of Corrections. Detention facility complaints are also investigated by the Environmental Health Division.
