At least one person from each food facility that has unpackaged meats, chicken, poultry, fish, dairy or other potentially hazardous food must have a Food Managers Certificate. These classes typically last up to 8 hours with an 80 question test. This certificate is valid for 5 years from the date it was issued.
All food handlers in non-exempted food facilities (primarily restaurants) that do not have a Food Safety Manager Certificate are required to have a Food Handler Card. The course is offered primarily online but classes are available. These classes are 2.5 hours with a 40 question test.
